About
This is the blog of Sean McDevitt, one of my small corners of the Internet. I’m an essayist, commentator, and the author of the children’s book Goodnight Princess, the fumetto The Beautiful Kill, the Slip Kid comic series, and the forthcoming short story and essay collection Captured Ghosts, living in Champaign, Illinois.
This blog is the only place where I will consistently publish my writing. I will only post directly on social media in exceptional cases. If you see something from me on those platforms, it was probably published here first and then syndicated. For instance, a post on my Medium page would have appeared here first and then been exported to Medium.
What will you discover as you explore the archive? I really appreciate Patrick Rhone’s perspective on a personal blog. He states, “What will you find here? The small but significant thoughts. The quotes that resonate with me. Links to things I read that I believe are important enough to share. And brief essays and reviews. I aspire for this space to reflect who I am, my daily life, and the things that capture my interest. In my view, that’s what a personal blog should be.”
My two online homesteads are seanmcdevitt.com and seanmcdevitt.net. The .net site is this blog, while the .com landing page serves as my identity site. It provides a snapshot with links to my books and selected writings. Occasionally, I experiment with a newsletter called The Weekly Click, which, as the name suggests, is a collection of links sent via email.
